Political repression* wears a black baton and canisters. Political repression* is a wrist in zip-ties or a mattress covered in blood. Political repression* is buffing the graffiti in the morning. Political repression* is the price tag on a winter jacket. Political repression* is a dependable system. Political repression* asks for your ID and social security number. Political repression* is surveillance cameras with no one watching the screen. Political repression* is having to check “male” or “female.” Political repression* is a hold-your-breath-past-a-cop moment. Political repression* snitches on you. Political repression* is a chainsaw, a  pipeline, a fish belly up. Political repression* makes money off of your money. Political repression* is your boss. Political repression* is in your drinking water. Political repression* has no nutritional value.  Political repression* gave your child asthma, and your grandma cancer. Political repression* is mildly alarmed, but thankful it’s not you in Guantanamo. Political repression* sends you an eviction letter. Political repression* is the map to your neighborhood ballot box. Political repression* is believing when someone says: you aren’t repressed you aren’t repressed you aren’t repressed you aren’t repressed.
